“Anaphora in Discourse”

Resumen

El curso introduccirá a los estudiantes el básico del tema anáfora dentro del discurso de la lengua natural, i.e., uso e interpretación de elementos anafóricos como pronombres y descripciones definidas. Consideraremos restricciones en discurso e interpretaciones interlinguísticas del objeto anáfora, con el enfoque en datos de la lengua inglesa y del portugués brasileño, con el apelo a fenómenos relevantes de otras lenguas más. Los tópicos que serán impartidos son: 

• anáfora limitada vs. anáfora no-limitada, y el fenómeno de estricto vs. interpretaciones poco rigurosas
• anáfora intra- e inter-sentencial 
• “donkey anaphora” y referentes discursivos
• definitividad: teoría de unicidad vs. de familiaridad, aplicadas a los alcance de los disparadores anafóricos: pronombres, descripciones definidas, demonstrativas restrictos, incluso: restricción lógica; “Right Frontier” y otros tipos de restricciones de coherencia; prominencia y el tópico bajo discusión
